Supervision here means the regular, protected, one-to-one time where a professional works through the emotional weight of their job — required for teachers, nurses and social workers, and rarely measured.
We're building the instrument that will measure it — as custodians, not owners. The evidence belongs to the people who do this work; we just keep it safe, and make it count.

The instrument above shows what the Index will hold. Today it holds nothing published — we start collecting from this autumn, and we won't put a made-up figure where a real one should be. Six areas of work — education, social care, health, justice, sport, and the voluntary and community sector — are all still gathering.

We think that stops being the question. It becomes: which critical roles can anyone still justify leaving unsupported?
The evidence will belong to the sector — we will keep it safe and publish only through the Institute's governed process.
